Steven Vanhauwaert
Piano

Originally from Belgium, pianist Steven Vanhauwaert earned his H3 Diploma from the Conservatorium in Kortrijk. In 2004 he earned a Master of Music degree, summa cum Laude, from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, and was awarded a full scholarship to continue his education at the University of Southern California. He holds a second Master of Music Degree and Graduate Certificate from USC.

Steven has been the recipient of numerous awards, both in Europe and locally. These include a Special prize for accompaniment in the Axion Classics Competition, Grand Prize at the Los Angeles 2004 International Liszt Competition, First Prize in the 2005 USC Concerto Competition, and Laureate of the Sundays-at-Two audition. In addition, he was named USC’s Most Outstanding Graduate Student.

Steven’s performing career has taken him to concert halls and festivals throughout Europe and the United States; most recently he performed Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with the Pacific Symphony and Schumann’s Piano Concerto with the USC Symphony.
