Originally from Ashland, Oregon, Sherril Kannasto Wood earned her Master of Music degree in the Performance of Early Music from the New England Conservatory in Boston. She co-founded the Northwest Bach Ensemble, and was the group's Associate Director for 13 years. She performed for six seasons on historical instruments at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Additionally, she served as Principal Flutist of the Rogue Valley Symphony and the Rogue Opera orchestras and has made several recordings for OCP Publications in Portland. Since moving to southern California, she has performed with the Santa Monica Symphony, the Los Angeles Flute Orchestra, Musica Angelica, the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra, Con Gioia, Ensemble Bella Musica, Jacaranda, and the San Diego Bach Collegium. She teaches flute, recorder, and piano and is the Founding Director of the Amadeus Music Academy.
