David Costello

David Costello was born and raised in Santa Monica. David is an alumnus of Santa Monica High School, where he was drum major of the award winning marching band. He received his bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music under the instruction of Michael Sachs and James Darling, and continued with graduate level studies at the University of Southern California under the instruction of Boyde Hood. David is currently a member of the award winning Brass Pacifica. Brass Pacifica is a brass quintet currently on the roster of the Los Angeles Music Center Education division, as well as the education divisions for the Orange County Performing Arts Center, the Henry Mancini Institute, the DaCamera Society, and Art Smart of San Bernardino. David has played in numerous Summer Music Festivals including the Aspen Music Festival where he received the American Brass Quintet brass quintet fellowship. David has performed in a solo capacity with many local orchestras including the Topanga Symphony, Brentwood Symphony, and the University of Pepperdine Symphony Orchestra. He has also played with many orchestras all over the U.S., including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, the New World Symphony, the Aspen Festival Orchestra, the Westchester/Marina Del Rey Symphony Orchestra, and the Santa Monica Symphony.
